In the wake of the resounding success of PoM Aachen 2024 | Lifelikeness & Beyond, we are still reflecting on the many exciting discussions and ideas that emerged. The Politics of the Machines Committee extends our heartfelt thanks to everyone for your active participation and invaluable contributions. We hope you found the conference enjoyable and that it inspired new ideas, research, and practical approaches.
Proceedings
We are pleased to announce that the proceedings of PoM Aachen 2024 | Lifelikeness & Beyond will be published through the eWiC platform of the Chartered Institute for IT of the BCS. This edition publication will be divided into two volumes, which we aim to release by the end of this year and mid-2025, respectively.

Please note that submissions for Volume 1 may be considered for Volume 2 if deemed necessary by the editorial team.
Review Submission Guidelines
Full papers’ upload should follow the BCS format (minus credentials), making sure that uploaded document does not contain any information inside it that could identify authors or co-authors, such as names, affiliations, addresses, contact details…etc.
Samples on hiding author(s) related information inside the uploaded document during full paper reviewing phase.
Submitted documents must remain anonymous at this stage to insure a double-blind review process. Authors be asked to re-upload the full paper with your authorship details at the final submission stage. Any inclusion of identifying information inside the uploaded documents during this stage will result in the cancellation of the submission.
Mandatory/Allowed author(s) information inside the submission form.
Please note that while author(s) information must be provided on the submission platform, it will be kept confidential. The details you enter in the submission form will be automatically hidden from reviewers to maintain the anonymity of the double-blind review process.
Final Submission Guidleines
Papers should be between 3,000 and 4,000 words, excluding references Please ensure your submissions adhere strictly to the BCS standards guidelines, as papers not meeting the BCS format may be rejected.
